Dec 07, 2021 (newstodate): Finnair is launching flights on a new route to the US: Seattle.
Starting from June 1, 2022, the carrier will offer three weekly rotations from Helsinki to Seattle using Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route.
This marks the fifth US destinations by Finnair in summer 2022, including also Dallas, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Finnair served Seattle between May 1981 and October 1989 with DC10, operating a Helsinki – Seattle and/or Helsinki – Seattle – Los Angeles routing
SAS was serving Seattle with five weekly flights from Copenhagen Airport from 1966 as the only North European carrier, but pulled out from the route by the end of 2009, offering instead flights to Seattle in cooperation with United Airlines via New York.
