Dec 16, 2021 (newstodate): Lufthansa is strengthening its focus on Norway's western and northern markets in 2022 with more flights, and one new route.
From May 2, 2022, Lufthansa will add seven new weekly rotations between Frankfurt and Stavanger. The route was served with regular flights till 2015 when Lufthansa suspended the route, now to be revived.
From May 27, 2022, Lufthansa will raise the frequency of flights on the route between Bergen and Frankfurt from currently eight to ten weekly rotations, and flights on the route between Frankfurt and Tromso will double from one to two weekly departures for the summer season starting from May 29, 2022.
New in the schedule will be a route launched on June 2, 2022, connecting Munich and Bergen with one weekly rotation, and Lufthansa will also return services on the route between Bergen and Zurich from June 2, 2022, with two weekly rotations by Edelweiss.
As for cargo, Lufthansa has just rounded a corner, serving Stavanger now for seven years since November 8, 2014, with a weekly Boeing 777F flight coming in from Houston, Texas, and returning to Frankfurt - primarily serving the oil and gas industries in the USA and Norway.
