Dec 16, 2021 (newstodate): The Latvian ACMI and charter carrier SmartLynx Airlines, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, plans to open its coming new Competence and Innovation Center in Lithuania by March 2022.
   The carrier will locate sales, marketing, technical, IT solutions and product departments in the new office at Vilnius and expects the staff to grow to some 100 employees, drawing in fresh Baltic talents to its company.
   In the fleet of SmartLynx are now a total of 35 aircraft, including four on Estonian registers, making it the largest carrier in the Baltic region and beating Latvia's airBaltic that is today operating 32 aircraft.
