Dec 15, 2021 (newstodate): Hungary now seems at long last to benefit from its strategic decision in September 2020 to acquire an ex-Qatar Airways A330-200F freighter, owned by the state and operated by Wizz Air, to secure control over its national cargo connectivity.
The aircraft has so far been utilized for ad-hoc cargo operations only, primarily carrying PPE from China.
Now, the carrier is performing thrice-weekly scheduled flights between Zhengzhou Airport in China and Budapest Airport carrying commercial cargo including ex-China exports to markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
The freighter service is the result of a Strategic Cooperation Agreement on China-Hungary Air Cargo Hub Project between Henan Air Cargo Development Co., Ltd. and China-Europe Trade and Logistics Cooperation Park Co., Ltd.
