Dec 02, 2021 (newstodate): The Estonian tech company Feeport is seeing growing success with its software platform x7trade enabling imported bulk low-value B2C goods’ declarations to be automatically logged to EU Member States’ Customs IT systems.
As the latest move, the software platform has now been implemented in the Dutch market as a further step towards seeing its integration with more EU states.
As of July 2021, new EU VAT rules came into force, requiring all ecommerce parcels imported to the EU to be customs cleared which easily translates into growing congestion at logistics hubs such as Amsterdam.
As a neutral provider, the platform now launched in the Netherlands is targeting the Dutch logistics sector including customs brokers, last mile providers, and postal service companies.
In Estonia, the platform is already signed with UPS that already processes thousands of declarations daily for customers in Estonia and Finland with the system.
Co-founder of Feeport is Haiti Arendi, a veteran in the forwarding and logistics business since 1995.
