Dec 10, 2021 (newstodate): Armenia's coming new national carrier Fly Arna is expected to launch services by spring 2022.
Established by a JV announced in July 2021 between the Armenian National Interests Fund and the Sharjah-based Air Arabia Group, Fly Arna plans for first commercial flights by March or April 2022 with a fleet of Airbus A320 Family aircraft based at Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport.
In November 2021, EU and Armenia signed a Common Aviation Area Agreement, paving the way for the new carrier to operate flights on routes connecting Armenia and EU member states.
In June 2020 all air carriers in Armenia were included on the EU Air Safety List, including Armenia Airways, Atlantis Armenian Airlines, Armenian Helicopters, Atlantis European Airways and Mars Avia, which places the coming new Armenian airline in a unique position.
And by the way: "Fly Arna" is short for "Armenian National Airlines"...
