Nov 29, 2021 (newstodate): Continued uncertainty, lockdowns and travel limitations due to Coronavirus developments cause airline to constantly revise schedules and networks.
As one example, Wizz Air has decided to suspend flights on most of its planned new routes from the Balkan countries, slated for launch by December 2021.
The flights in case will be suspended after just a brief period of operation, to return again only with the start of the summer 2022 schedule - if warranted by conditions prevailing at that time.
This implies several routes to Denmark's Billund Airport.
Flights from Sarajevo to Billund will thus commence from December 17, but be operated only till January 7, 2022; flights from Belgrade to Billund will start from December 17 and be suspended again from January 12, 2022, and flights from Skopje to Billund will launch on December 19 only to be suspended again from January 9, 2022.
Wizz Air will also start flights from Sarajevo to Sandefjord on December 19, but suspend operations on January 9, 2022, while flights from Sarajevo to Malmo starting on December 16 will be suspended from January 8, 2022.
Also, flights from Sarajevo to Vaxjo, launched on December 17, will be suspended from January 10, 2022.
