Nov 29, 2021 (newstodate): The geographical position as the closest EU capital to China brings potentials for a role for Estonia's Tallinn Airport in Asian-US cargo flights.
Since early September 2021, Wamos Air has been operating all-cargo service between Shenzhen in China and New York with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft routed via Tallinn Airport for crew changes, layovers, and technical stop for fuelling.
Today, Tallinn Airport is seeing Wamos Air on technical stops on three to four routes; one route connecting China to the East Coast of the USA, and two routes from Vietnam to the East Coast of the USA.
Occasionally, Wamos Air is also stopping by at Tallinn Airport for technical stops on routes between China and Spain.
On certain days, Tallinn Airport has seen up to four Wamos Air aircraft on the apron..
With HQ at Madrid Airport, Wamos Air operates a fleet of nine Airbus A330 aircraft, of which two Airbus A330-200 are used for all-cargo missions.
