Nov 03, 2021 (newstodate): Ryanair has now allotted two aircraft to its coming new base at Denmark's Billund Airport.
The two Boeing 737-800 aircraft will provide flights on a planned network comprising eight routes to Brussels, Gothenburg, Lisbon, Memmingen, Sibiu, Seville, Tallinn and Wroclaw.
One precondition for opening a permanent base remains unsettled, though: an agreement with the Danish unions that are adamant to see an agreement signed before accepting the airline's plans.
As this is reportedly still not landed, Ryanair's CEO, Eddie Wilson will fly to Billund on November 4 to press the issue.
Ryanair made its first entry at Billund Airport on January 24, 2007, and in March 2012, Ryanair established its 48th base at the airport serving western Denmark.
But due to union protest and labor actions against Ryanair's opening of its second Danish base at Copenhagen Airport from March 2015, Ryanair closed down both bases in Denmark by July 2015.
