Nov 19, 2021 (newstodate): There is more to Norway than seafood attracting freighter flights.
Another large business is the country's oil and gas exploration and industries, turning Stavanger into a key destination for Lufthansa Cargo.
The carrier has just rounded a corner, serving Stavanger now for seven years since November 8, 2014, with a weekly Boeing 777F flight coming in from Houston, Texas, and returning to Frankfurt.
-This is the only scheduled legacy freighter service in Norway not living on seafood exports, says Rolf Carlsson, Lufthansa Cargo Country Manager Norway since April 2018 - and with over 21 years with the company.
-Houston and Stavanger are indisputably among the world's most important destinations in the global oil & gas industries, and we have been operating this service all through fluctuating market conditions, year-round.
-As for other cargo, we truck shipments from Northern Norway to Oslo, offering connections within 24 hours to almost all points on our network via Frankfurt, says Mr Carlsson.
