Nov 05, 2021 (newstodate): Finnair is taking its share of the hefty demand for air cargo capacity as pressure grows on the global supply chains, with October 2021 a new record month during the pandemic.
In October 2021, Finnair's available scheduled cargo tonne kilometers increased by 260.5 percent, y-o-y, and 33 percent m-o-m, while revenue scheduled cargo tonne kilometers increased by 200.3 percent y-o-y, and by 38.4 percent m-o-m - both due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on scheduled flights, especially in North Atlantic traffic.
Finnair thus lifted a total of 13,344 tonnes of cargo in October, up 164.9 percent, y-o-y, of which 5.348 tonnes, up 134 percent, y-o-y, were carried on all-cargo flights.
