Nov 11, 2021 (newstodate): As the Covid-19 is hopefully loosing at least part of its grip on the world, Finnair will launch the long-awaited flights from Helsinki to Tokyo Haneda Airport in 2022.
Starting from the summer schedule 2022, Finnair will offer daily flights from Helsinki to Tokyo Haneda Airport alongside the daily flights to Tokyo Narita Airport, thus going up to 14 weekly rotations between the two capitals.
On Finnair's bucket list for years, the flights to Tokyo Haneda Airport will be of importance to especially the business segment..
Already in 2020, Finnair planned to move one of its two flights daily flights at Tokyo Narita to Tokyo Haneda Airport while continuing one daily flight on its route to Tokyo Narita Airport, operated for over 35 years.
But the lockdown and restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic caused the carrier to postpone the plans.
The new flights to Tokyo Haneda will be code-shared with Japan Airlines, that has also been serving the route between Helsinki and Tokyo Narita Airport since February 25, 2013.
If travel restrictions allow, Finnair will resume service to all the five destinations in Japan it served before the pandemic – Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo.
Altogether, Finnair will fly up to 40 weekly flights between Helsinki and Japan in summer 2022.
