Nov 02, 2021 (newstodate): October 2021 provided a boost to cargo volumes handled at Billund Airport.
A total of 7,262 tonnes of cargo was handled, which was an increase by 23.7 percent over last year's 5,869 tonnes.
Driving the growth were exports that grew by 32.6 percent to 5,635 tonnes, while imports were trailing behind, up 0.6 percent to 1,627 tonnes.
During the first 10 months of this year, the airport has seen the total volumes handled up by only 1.6 percent, y-o-y, to 56.390 tonnes, reined in by a drop by 20.9 percent in imports, to 13,967 tonnes, while exports were up 12.2 percent to 42,423 tonnes.
During the first 10 months of 2020, the airport handled a total of 55,478 tonnes of cargo, down 9.5 percent, y-o-y.
In January-October 2019, the airport handled a total of 61,316 tonnes, unchanged against 2018, including 42,109 tonnes of exports, up 5.2 percent, and 19,207 tonnes of imports that were down 9.6 percent.
