Oct 14, 2021 (newstodate): United Airlines will reveal new destinations for summer 2022, with an announcement expected tomorrow, October 15, 2021.
So far, details have only been tentatively revealed through a video contest on twitter - but one clue points to seeing United Airlines returning to Stockholm Airport as the only destination in Scandinavia during S'22.
Already in September, the carrier actually filed for resumption of services between New York and Stockholm, suspended since last year, and starting again from May 2022.
United Airlines performed its last flight on the route between New York and Copenhagen, Denmark, on September 24, 2012, and also pulled out from the route between Oslo and New York in September 2016.
At Stockholm Airport, United Airlines will face stiff competition on the route to New York from SAS, back on the route from September 2, 2021, between Stockholm Airport and New York JFK, with three weekly rotations after a nearly 18 months' suspension.
Finnair is also to launch services on the route from Stockholm to New York EWR starting from December 7, 2021, with three weekly rotations.
