Oct 11, 2021 (newstodate): The Icelandic cargo charter and ACMI carrier Bluebird Nordic has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-800 converted freighter.
Earlier operated by Turkish Airlines, the aircraft has been delivered on a lease contract with AviaAM Leasing after undergoing cargo conversion at Taikoo Aircraft Engineering Company at Jinan, China, followed by a C-check performed by FL Technics and repainting by MAAS Aviation, both at Lithuania's Kaunas Airport.
Bluebird Nordic is to take in 25 Boeing 737-800 converted freighters till 2024, adding to its existing fleet comprising one Boeing 737-300 and seven Boeing 737-400 freighters.
On January 24, 2020, Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group signed an agreement with Bluebird Nordic's former owner, BB Holding to acquire all shares in Bluebird Nordic that continues trading under its own brand.
