Oct 12, 2021 (newstodate): Demand for cargo capacity was exceptionally strong in September 2021, driving Finnair's total cargo volumes up by 139.4 percent, y-o-y, and by 145.9 percent, month-on-month.
In September alone, the company thus lifted 9,567 tonnes of cargo, of which 3,810 tonnes were carried on all-cargo flights.
Volumes on the Asian lanes were 3,210 tonnes - up 47 percent as the long-haul flights are gradually opening - but still 11 percent down, y-o-y, in January-September 2021, totaling 23,832 tonnes.
Starting in October 2021, Finnair is operating two weekly rotations on the route to Beijing; Finnair will also increase the frequency on flights from Helsinki to Shanghai from today's two to seven weekly rotations during W'21, and flights on the route to Hong Kong will increase from three to five weekly rotations.
