Oct 11, 2021 (newstodate): Finnair is back in Beijing with two weekly rotations from Helsinki from October 2021.
While good news for the airline and its cargo customers, restrictions at Beijing Airport are affecting Finnair Cargo operations.
-Only shipments handled in Hongyuan Logistics warehouse can be accepted onboard, while all shipments to other handling locations cannot be accepted, Finnair Cargo has announced.
Especially damaging for the company is that Finnair Cargo also will not be able to carry any temperature-controlled shipments into Beijing Airport, hurting the carrier's ability to serve Norwegian exporters of seafood to China as long as restrictions apply.
-The majority of our customers are not affected by this, but naturally we hope that the restrictions at Beijing Airport can be lifted as soon as possible, says Milla Nyholm, Finnair Cargo.
Beijing has been served by Finnair since June 2, 1988, with up to 14 weekly flights prior to the Covid-19 outbreak.
