Oct 28, 2021 (newstodate): The giant Danish logistics company DSV saw airfreight volumes increasing by double-digits in this year's Q3.
The company thus handled a total of 386,702 tonnes of air cargo, which is an increase by no less than 28.8 percent, y-o-y.
The huge increase is attributable to the inclusion of figures from the take-over of Agility's Global Integrated Logistics, GIL, with a workforce of approximately 17,000 employees and one of the world's major freight forwarding and contract logistics providers, mainly related to air & sea freight.
But even without the GIL figures, DSV's growth in Q3/21 would still be around 20 percent, y-o-y, according to estimates.
With the acquisition of GIL, DSV Panalpina has become the world's 3rd largest transport and logistics company with a combined pro forma revenue of approximately USD 22 billion – an increase of around 23 percent – and a combined workforce of more than 70,000 employees.
