Oct 01, 2021 (newstodate: The Danish logistics company Scan Global Logistics has dug into the pocket again, this time to establish its first foothold in the UK market.
   With effect from today, October 1, 2021, Scan Global Logistics has acquired the air and ocean forwarding company Horizon International Cargo Limited to pursue new business opportunities and offer commercial synergies to customers worldwide through an improved position in key trade lanes.
   The infrastructure and the 150 Horizon staff located in five countries, including also offices in Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, and the USA, will remain unchanged and play an essential role in expanding the company's presence in key verticals retail, pharma healthcare, aid & relief.
   The UK deal is Scan Global Logistics' fourth acquisition in 2021; only in September, Scan Global Logistics entered into a binding agreement to acquire New Zealand Freight Forwarder Orbis Global Logistics Limited that will become a new member of the family from October 5, 2021.  
   In January 2021, Scan Global Logistics Group, managed by Allan Melgaard as CEO, signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Air and Ocean activities of the U.S company Werner Enterprises; and in April 2021, SGL acquired Grupo Contenosa, a Spanish family-owned logistics service provider.
