Oct 25, 2021 (newstodate): Good news for Copenhagen Airport: Air Canada is returning passenger services from Toronto!
According to plans for the Summer 2022 schedule, flights between Toronto and Copenhagen will commence from May, 2022, with frequencies yet to be revealed, and presumably using retrofitted Airbus A330 aircraft.
Hopes were, however, that Air Canada might return already from October 2021 after seeing the passenger flights suspended from spring 2020 due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
Air Canada launched its five-times weekly service between Toronto and Copenhagen from June 25, 2010, using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
To meet the demand for cargo capacity during the suspension of passenger flights, Air Canada has been serving the Scandinavian air cargo market with all-cargo passenger aircraft flights in a partnership with HWF since April 26, 2020.
From the start, the carrier has been offering one weekly all-cargo Boeing 787-9 rotation - increasing from October 1, 2020, to two weekly rotations to accommodate the increasing demand for westbound cargo movement.
