Oct 25, 2021 (newstodate): Riga Airport will soon see the launch of the second weekly direct freighter service connecting to Hong Kong.
As earlier announced Venipak, a Lithuanian e-trade logistics provider driving the service, is adding a Wednesday flight from October 27, 2021, supplementing the service on Saturdays since September 18, 2021.
The service is provided with a Boeing 737-800BCF operated by the Russian carrier Atran Airlines.
According to Venipak, the Riga-Hong Kong freighter has lifted over 70 tonnes on its first three Saturday-flights, serving some 60 customers.
Sales of the cargo capacity has been entrusted to Kales Airline Services in China and Europe, except in the three Baltic markets where Strike Aviation Ltd serves as GSSA.
Venipak is already planning to add a second freighter destination from Riga to Asia, with Shanghai, South Korea and Japan as alternatives, with a decision expected to be announced already by November this year.
