Jan 25, 2021 (newstodate): So far scheduled till the end of this month, SAS is plying the skies between Birmingham in the UK, and Brussels.
On January 6, 2021, SAS deployed one Airbus A330-300 aircraft at Birmingham Airport to operate twice-daily all-cargo flights between the two destinations to ease the pressure on road transportation affected by the turbulence from Brexit.
The service is mainly contracted to carry automotive parts between car manufacturers in the UK, including notably Mini at Oxford and Jaguar Land Rover.
The service may be reviewed by the turn of this month.
The operations build on the Scandinavian carrier's utilization of its rights as an EU airline, UK-based carriers are now exempt from similar operations within the EU markets after leaving the Union.
