Jan 14, 2021 (newstodate): Norwegian has today presented its new business plan with a focus on a return to its Nordic core business and European connectivity without long-haul routes.
The business plan envisages the operation of some 50 aircraft in 2021, gradually increasing to some 70 aircraft by 2022.
The decision to leave the long-haul low-cost segment is a consequence of falling demand during the current Covid-19 pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding the future market conditions.
The plan strives at decreasing the company's financial debts as well as new emissions to gain fresh capital.
With the new business plan the Norwegian Board of Directors purports to establish a framework that will potentially enable the company to exit its Irish Examinership and Norwegian Reconstruction processes during the first quarter of 2021.
