Jan 20, 2021 (newstodate): EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency is expected to lift the Boeing 737 MAX ban next week.
Speaking at a press briefing on January 19, The head of the EU regulator said that the Airworthiness Directive is due to be published next week, clearing the aircraft to operate in European airspace.
Lifting the ban will unfreeze 19 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in the fleet of Norwegian, as well as Icelandair's five Boeing 737 MAX 8 and one Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft that are slated for entering service from the coming summer 2021 program.
