Jan 21, 2021 (newstodate): WFS Denmark's plans for an expansion of its pharma handling capacity at Copenhagen Airport are moving ahead.
Increasing volumes of temperature-sensitive shipments from the Scandinavian pharma industries, handled by WFS Denmark at the airport, drives the company to add a new 3,700 m2 terminal at Copenhagen Airport, adding to the existing Pharma Terminal that was officially opened on September 3, 2019, offering the capacity of providing temperature-controlled end-to-end handling of 300 pallets and 30 PMCs in the 2-8 degrees range, in addition to the capacity of providing temperature-controlled handling space in the 15-25 degrees range at other parts of the cargo terminals.
Approved by WFS in 2019, the coming new terminal is now entering the conclusive phase in approval by the pertinent public authority after which the project's design details will be frozen.
With construction works to start this year, the new facility will be commissioned in September 2022.
