Jan 11, 2021 (newstodate): Following a tender published on TED, the EU Tenders Electronic Daily, Icelandair has won the right, or obligation, to provide passenger flights between Iceland and the USA until March 31, 2021.
Icelandair was actually the only airline bidding in the tender, and the carrier will now provide at least two weekly rotations on the route between Keflavik and Boston Airport.
The Ministry of Transport has thus secured a minimum of air connectivity between the two markets during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Besides, the carrier operates Transatlantic all-cargo flights on contract basis.
