Jan 06, 2021 (newstodate): Following the instability over the fate of ground handling provider Aviator at Copenhagen Airport, Emirates has now shifted to Menzies.
Aviator Airport Services Denmark faced severe financial troubles in 2020, leading to bankruptcy after failing in its efforts to reconstruct the company; and while Aviator in Denmark is now back in business after a change of ownership structure, Emirates has picked a safe card by contracting Menzies for its Danish handling.
Emirates started online operations between Dubai and Copenhagen Airport from August 1, 2011, naming Novia, then part of the Scandinavian handling group Aviator, as its ground handling service provider.
Menzies launched handling services at Copenhagen Airport by April 1, 2015, with Norwegian as its launch customer.
