Jan 12, 2021 (newstodate): Pending final permits from the authorities, Finnair plans to return services from Helsinki to Russian destinations.
If plans go through, Finnair will return services to St Petersburg from January 28, 2021.
Next, flights to Moscow would be resumed from early March 2021, starting out with three weekly rotations and adding a fourth rotation from March 22, while daily flights would be on the schedule from March 29, 2021 - if the operating permits are granted.
In "normal times", Finnair would also be operating flights from Helsinki to Kazan, Samara and Yekaterinburg.
Aeroflot is already back in Helsinki with two weekly flights from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport since shortly before Christmas.
Normally, Aeroflot operates two daily flights from Moscow to Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm as well as three daily flights to Helsinki.
Since February 1, 2008, Aeroflot has been present with an own office at Helsinki, Finland, that is also, since 2011, in charge of all cargo sales in Scandinavia, Finland, and the Baltic markets, with Denis Khmelevskiy as Aeroflot Cargo Regional Sales Manager.
