Jan 18, 2021 (newstodate): Finavia has now completed its five mio euro investment project in Kittala Airport above the Arctic circle.
   The final phase comprised  the development of baggage handling, check-in and security screening at Kittala Airport, following on the construction works during 2018−2019 of new taxiways and more aircraft stands at the airport, as well as the opening of a new 2,000 sq m passenger area.
    Traffic at the airport's 2,500m runway is almost exclusive seasonal, with passenger volumes in 2020 reaching 206,251 passengers, down 43.2 percent, y-o-y.
