The country's second-largest e-trade retailer, trailing only after Alibaba, JD.com has revealed plans for setting up an own airline.
To achieve independence from commercial airlines, JD.com also named Jingdong has applied for an own AOC to establish Jingdong Airlines and Jingdong Cargo Airlines - with a vision to have up to 500 own freighter aircraft in the fleet by 2045.
JD.com is already in the air with the lease of a Boeing 737-300F operated by Tianjin Airlines.
