Sep 17, 2020 (newstodate): The Hungarian LCC Wizz Air is rescheduling the opening flights between three Scandinavian capitals and St Petersburg, in Russia.
Originally slated to start from tomorrow, flights between St Petersburg and Copenhagen are now to launch instead from October 16, 2020, with four weekly rotations; flights between St Petersburg and Stockholm and Oslo, respectively, have been pushed back from start on September 18 to December 15, 2020, offering three weekly rotations.
With the opening flight on August 27, 2017, Wizz Air became the first foreign low-cost carrier at Russia's St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport.
Launching its base at St Petersburg in June 2020 with one Airbus A320 aircraft, adding a second aircraft in December 2020,the carrier is now in a position to fully exploit the 7th Freedom Rights allowing it to carry passengers or cargo between two foreign countries without any continuing service to its own country, as well as the visa-free access to the region, enforced from the start of 2020.
