Sep 25, 2020 (newstodate): The Ukrainian cargo carrier Eleron remains a staunch operator at Latvia's Riga Airport since the first rotation from Lviv in January 2020.
The airline now operates a daily rotation plus one or two weekly ad-hoc flights between Lviv and Riga, supporting the influx and redistribution of Chinese e-trade exports via Moscow and lifted into Riga by the Russian cargo carrier Atran.
Eleron is now planning for a major expansion of its operation to European hubs that now also include Frankfurt Airport with two weekly rotations based on an SPA with Lufthansa and boosted by the recent designation of Mondial Airlines Services as its exclusive GSA in the German market.
Eleron is also talking to other European airlines including TAP and earlier this month contracted AIA Cargo, Airbridge International Agencies, to provide cargo sales and marketing services in the UK and Ireland, Austria and Switzerland, as well as Poland, Hungary and Romania.
Eleron currently operates a fleet of five AN-26 freighters, and has earlier aired plans for adding three Boeing 737-300 converted freighters in the near future.
-We have some updated developing plans, including also the addition of Boeing 737 and Boeing 757 freighter aircraft to connect Asia and USA through Lviv airport. But at this moment, no further details can be revealed, says Olexandr Ignatyuk, Eleron Marketing Manager.
