Sep 10, 2020 (newstodate): A major reconstruction project will launch at Lithuania's Palanga International Airport in 2021.
Comprised by the plans is the refurbishment of the airport's 2,280m runway, renewal of the taxiway and parts of the apron area.
A tender will be opened this week and a contract will be signed in the first half of 2021, with construction works scheduled to start in September 2021, requiring the temporary shutdown of the airport for 45 days in September/October 2021.
Part of the state enterprise Lithuanian Airports, Palanga Airport saw passenger volumes up by seven percent, y-o-y, and movements up by 12 percent, y-o-y, in 2019.
