Sep 02, 2020 (newstodate): The Polish passenger and cargo charter carrier SkyTaxi has plans for Transatlantic cargo operations.
The carrier has thus applied with the US Dept of Transportation for a Foreign Air Carrier Permit allowing it to operate freighter flights between EU and North American destinations.
Established in 2000, SkyTaxi, based at Wroclaw Airport, operates a modest fleet of two aircraft - one SAAB 340 passenger aircraft, and one Boeing 767-200 converted freighter manufactured in 1984 and offering the cargo capacity of 45 tonnes, or 440 cb m.
The freighter was delivered by ATSG in November 2018 under a seven-year lease contract, and plans are to add one more similar freighter to the fleet of SkyTaxi.
