Sep 24, 2020 (newstodate): Plans for start of a freighter service at Norway's Evenes Airport are still brewing, and hopes remain to see the first operation to lift off before the end of October this year.
-All pertinent GSE is in place, including Hi-loader, dollies and other equipment, and Perishable Center Nord has taken over a 1,000 sq m hangar earlier used by Kato-Air for palletizing the seafood shipments, says Stig Winther, CEO at Perishable Center Nord established in 2020 with main shareholders including Nordlaks Opdrett, Ellingsen Seafood, Salfra and Astafjord Export.
-We are in conclusive talks with airlines that have inspected the airport and our facilities, expressing satisfaction with the conditions and confirming their interest in the business proposal, says Mr Winther.
Plans comprise scheduled freighter flights from Evenes to both North American and Asian destinations
