Sep 16, 2020 (newstodate): Five regional airports in Finland are suffering from lack of air services to the country's capital and options for onward flights out of Helsinki Airport.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis, Finnair has reined in on its domestic air services, currently operating domestic flights only between Helsinki and four airports - Rovaniemi, Oulu, Kuopio, Vaasa and Mariehamn.
Representatives from five regions have addressed ministers and members of Finland's parliament airing their dissatisfaction with the current lack of connections hurting exporters, business enterprises and provincial societies at large.
They now pin their hopes on luring other airlines to enter the Finnish domestic flights market to compensate for the shortfall of Finnair services.
Probably fully unconnected (?) to these developments one potential provider of regional air services in Finland, Estonia's Nordica Group is now in the market for recruiting Finnish cabin crew members to work for the Group's capacity provider, Xfly.
Nordica is otherwise not known to operate any routes relating to Finland, today performing only some operations for SAS in Sweden and Norway and two PSO-routes in Sweden out of Stockholm Arlanda.
