Aug 20, 2020 (newstodate): Starting from August 19, 2020, flights have resumed between St Petersburg and London Luton Airport, suspended from the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
As the first foreign low-cost carrier to operate flights to Russia's St Petersburg, Wizz Air entered the route to London from October 1, 2019, replacing British Airways' 48 years of unbroken air services.
Wizz Air is now again offering three weekly rotations on the route after the lifting of travel restrictions in Russia.
Previously, Wizz Air announced 14 new services under the seventh freedom traffic rights regime from Pulkovo Airport to Bratislava, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Malta, Oslo, Salzburg, Sofia, Stockholm Skavsta, Vilnius, Bergamo, Venice, Bologna, Turin, and Catania - and these flights will be launched as soon as remaining travel restrictions are lifted in Russia.
