Aug 24, 2020 (newstodate): A small Swedish/Norwegian carrier with an overly long name: Air Large European Aviation Project AB - or Air Leap for short - is now in the air on three new domestic routes in Sweden.
LEAP is thus launching flights today from Stockholm Bromma Airport to Malmo, Gothenburg and Angelholm, bringing the route network served to 12 destinations in Sweden as well as one in Norway and Finland, respectively.
In the fleet of Air Leap are one ATR 72-500, four SAAB 340 and three SAAB 2000 operated by the Estonian carrier Nyxair, and plans are to add three more ATR72-500 aircraft before the end of this year.
The airline started out on its first route in December 2018, operating a short-haul regional flight in Norway between Oslo and Orland.
Air Leap, set up by the Norwegian fishing group, the Olsen Group, received its AOC in October 2018.
