Aug 10, 2020 (newstodate): During the last two months, the Russian carrier UTAir has been a rather frequent carrier into Latvia's Riga Airport despite the current suspension of passenger operations.
The carrier has so far flown eight sorties on the route from Moscow to Hangzhou in China to pick up shipments of PPE to Latvia before returning to the home base in Moscow.
With these all-cargo flights, the carrier has brought some 120 tonnes of medic shipments into Riga since early July.
Prior to the current pandemic, UTAir has been online with flights between Moscow and Riga since August 17, 2010, while all passenger flight currently remain suspended.
