Aug 28, 2020 (newstodate): Good news at Riga Airport: Uzbekistan Airways is keeping flights to Latvia on its schedule.
The carrier will be operating two weekly rotations on the route between Tashkent and Riga during the coming winter schedule, using Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The carrier launched point-to-point flights on the route on October 31, 2014, with one weekly rotation in a code-share agreement with airBaltic.
Uzbekistan Airways also added Riga Airport as an en-route stop on flights between Tashkent and New York from October 31, 2004, using Boeing 7657-300 aircraft.
However, as the Boeing 767-300 was later replaced by Boeing 787-8 aircraft on the route to North America, the carrier bypassed Riga Airport to operate non-stop instead from summer 2018.
