Aug 20, 2020 (newstodate): The Latvian airline airBaltic and Airbus have signed an agreement on a revised Airbus A220-300 delivery schedule for the remaining 28 aircraft on firm orders.
Under the agreement, airBaltic will take delivery of the last of the remaining 28 Airbus A220-300 in this batch by early 2024, earlier slated for 2023.
In the fleet are now 22 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with so far only one new aircraft delivered in 2020, while three more will follow before the end of this year.
airBaltic has however not revealed details of the plans for delivery of the remaining 25 aircraft.
As of now, airBaltic operates 16 of the 22 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, keeping six on the ground alongside the entire fleet of 12 Dash 8-400 aircraft that are in the process of being returned to the lessor, Nordic Aviation Capital.
airBaltic was the launch carrier of the Bombardier CS300, later renamed Airbus A220-300, with its first CS300 on scheduled flights from December 14, 2016.
