Aug 19, 2020 (newstodate): As the market for passenger flights remains slow in recovering, Icelandair is to see its number of aircraft down from 39 in 2019 to 20 in 2020, and rising only slowly to 23 in 2021.
The figure builds on information in the Icelandair Group's new investor presentation materials.
In 2020, the Icelandair Group's fleet comprises 22 Boeing 757 aircraft, down to 19 in 2021, while the currently four Boeing 767 aircraft will remain in the fleet during 2020-25.
Currently grounded are six Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, the number of which will grow to nine in 2021, and to 12 in 2022-25.
Of the aircraft fleet in 2020, 12 are stored as will be the case for nine aircraft in 2021.
