Aug 07, 2020 (newstodate): Finland's Helsinki Airport is not a favorite among low-cost carriers - but one LCC is now on the tarmac.
With the first flight on August 6, LaudaMotion, a subsidiary of Ryanair Holdings, is online with three weekly rotations on the route from Vienna, an increase over the previous planning that envisaged one weekly rotation on the route from July 1, 2020.
Ryanair closed down all operations in Finland from autumn 2015; easyJet made its first entry at Helsinki Airport in 2008, but pulled out from the last of its three routes already in summer 2011.
