Aug 03, 2020 (newstodate): Edinburg, in Scotland, has long been a destination on the route map of the Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways - and now it is to return.
Starting from October 15, 2020, the carrier will offer two weekly rotations on the route with Airbus A319/A320neo aircraft until December 20, resuming again from the start of the next summer 2021 season.
Edinburgh has actually been on and off the schedule for the last 20 years, temporarily replaced by flights to Sumburgh in summer 2006 and replacing planned flights to Aberdeen in 2015 with launch on March 30, 2015, while plans for all-round services on the route have never materialized.
Since January 24, 2019, Atlantic Airways and KLM have been code-sharing flights on routes between Vagar and Copenhagen, Billund, Bergen, as well as Edinburgh.
