On August 10, 2020, the Chinese Government announced certain changes for foreigners wanting to return to China, enabling European nationals with valid Chinese residence permits concerning work, private affairs and reunification to apply to Chinese embassies and consulates for a new, free visa to re-enter the country.
Thus, nationals of all Nordic and Baltic countries are comprised by the new regulations facilitating also the resumption of normal business travels and stationing of personnel in China.
The lifting of the current coronavirus-spurred embargo on entry into China will be sweet music also for airlines including notably Finnair that is gradually to reopen its extensive network of flights between Helsinki and Chinese destinations.
