Jul 03, 2020 (newstodate): QCS – Quick Cargo Service Denmark was founded 10 years ago, amid the developing financial crisis - but still managed to get a foothold, and is now firmly established as a specialized forwarder in the market.
-Staffed with 10 people, our focus is on niches such as infrastructure including ships and aircraft spare part logistics, and pharmaceutical and medical shipments including sportsmen's blood samples for doping tests, all of which are time-critical shipments, says Allan Bach Christensen, QCS Mng Dir, who founded the company together with Elo Fogstrup, QCS Branch Mgr.
-As one of the few forwarding companies of our size, QCS is certified by ISO, ICEV and GDP and thus fully capable of serving customers in our niches at highest industrial levels.
-As a young forwarding company we do not aspire, however, to reach out for large customers, which requires a long track record. Instead, our focus is on small and medium-size customers that expect a close, handheld attention to their needs. To this end, we have developed an own booking platform where customers gain online access to bookings, requests and information.
-Needless to say, the current coronavirus crisis poses a challenge for us as neither the need for infrastructure, nor transport of sportsmen's blood samples are in high demand now.
-One promising new product line for us is serving as a North European hub for maintenance and distribution of Gyro Thermal Packaging Boxes for life science shipping, which is a promising niche business as well.
-QCS is located at Copenhagen Airport between the cargo terminals of WFS and Spirit and close to Customs and VET authorities which gives us fast access to shipments on behalf of our customers. A small 280 sq m temperature-controlled terminal allows us to handle pharmaceuticals and medicines, including VET medicine, while no warehousing is offered. Cargo is meant to be on the move, says Mr Christensen.
