Jul 01, 2020 (newstodate): While traffic volumes are still low at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport, construction works on a number of infrastructure projects are progressing.
The main goal of the reconstruction project is to renew pavements and widen taxiways, create conditions for the taxiing of larger category aircraft and implement environmental solutions.
The full catalog of construction works will be completed by the end of 2021 without interrupting operations at the airport during the period.
One phase of the modernization program has now been completed by the commissioning of the first three aircraft parking stands.
The reconstructed and newly paved parking stands are equipped with modern Cavotec underground ground power units allowing the servicing of aircraft faster, safer and more eco-friendly.
