Jul 01, 2020 (newstodate): As other airlines, Finnair is slowly reopening flights on a number of routes - but its crucial Asian traffic is yet to suffer for a long period.
According to its latest traffic update, Finnair will be back with flights from Helsinki to Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo Narita in July - but flights to Osaka, Nagoya, Singapore, Bangkok and Beijing will still have to wait.
Finnair's flights to Singapore, Delhi and Bangkok will follow from August 2020, as well as flights to New York also from August.
As matters stand now, flights to Busan, Sapporo, Fukuoka, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Nanjing, Xian and Guangzhou will not be resumed until the coming summer 201 schedule.
In 2019, 18 percent of Finnair's total passenger volume was generated on the Asian lanes, while Asian cargo accounted for 72 percent of the total volumes carried.
