Jul 28, 2020 (newstodate): The Danish charter and ACMI carrier Great Dane Airlines has landed a six-month contract with the Vietnamese carrier Bamboo Airways, securing its survival through the current downturn.
Under the contract, Great Dane Airlines will operate two of its four Embraer E195 aircraft together with 45 cockpit and cabin crew members on three domestic routes into Con Dao, a small airport with 1,800m runway.
On July 25 and 28, 2020, respectively, the two aircraft are ferried to Warsaw for repainting prior to delivery in Vietnam to commence operations in August, while the crew members have started out with two weeks of quarantine for coronavirus.
Launching the new service with leased aircraft, the carrier plans to acquire four Embraer aircraft to boost the traffic.
