Jun 22, 2020 (newstodate): The Serb carrier Air Serbia is now ready to launch flights on its long-planned route to Norway.
Starting from July 16, 2020, the carrier will be offering two weekly rotations on the route connecting Belgrade and Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
Already last year, the airline put the opening of the route to Oslo high on the agenda for start by this year's summer schedule, which was later shelved due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Air Serbia will, however, meet stiff competition on flights between Oslo and Belgrade as Norwegian has already announced the start of flights from July 4, with one weekly rotation, while Wizz Air is joining on the route from mid-July, planning for two weekly rotations.
But as a competitive edge over these competitors, Air Serbia will be able to offer onward flight connections to Sarajevo, Tivat, Podgorica, Skopje, Bucharest, Sofia, Thessaloniki and other destinations on its network.
The predecessor of Air Serbia, JAT Airways was also operating the route starting from 2008 with seasonal services till its demise in 2013.
